We get the good news for those who have the Skipper of Recreational Craft (PER), Patterns of the Yacht (PY) and the Captains of the Yacht, as from next July 1, 2019, will be able to perform the following functions:
- Provide services of transportation of supplies, within the inland waters of the sea and of the territorial sea, the Spanish up to a maximum distance of five miles from the port, marina, marina or beach outlet, made by recreational boats and motorcycles nautical, with destination to other vessels or pleasure craft.
- To perform activities of berthing, mooring, towing or displacement of recreational vessels within the waters corresponding to ports, marinas, marinas and beaches, as well as its transfer to another port or place provided that the navigation does not take place at a distance of over five nautical miles of the coast.
- To perform sea trials of recreational boats and motorcycles nautical.
- And the government of vessels intended emt beaches.
In addition to the holders of the title of captain of the yacht and skipper of the yacht can also patronear recreational boats carrying up to 6 passengers for the realization of tourist excursions and the practice of recreational fishing, within the same geographical area stated in the previous paragraph.
The requirements of this new Royal Decree to obtain these qualifications are the following:
- To make the practice of Enabling Sailing.
- For the Patterns of Recreational Boats, carry out the practices of extension of authority for vessels of 24 metres and navigations of the peninsula to the Balearic islands.
- Be in the possession of the Professional Certificate of Basic Training in Maritime Safety.
What is meant to be, with this new legislation is to facilitate the work of certain groups who were running pleasure boats in their work, as sailors from ports, staff nautical or workshops dedicated to testing of vessels, skippers of small boats, restaurants, beaches and first responders, among others.
