The course of Yacht captain it is an advanced training programme designed for those people who want to get the title nautical higher category in the nautical sports recreation. This title allows the owners to take responsibility and control of recreational craft of up to 24 metres in length, with the ability to browse the web without geographical boundaries in terms of distance from the coast, both day and night.
What's included?
The course includes a theoretical and a practical aspect. In the theoretical part, we cover topics such as theory and calculation of navigation, meteorology and English. The mandatory practices consist of the practice of navigation and security.
Requirements
– Be in possession of the title of Skipper of the Yacht
– Pass the knowledge test
– It must pass an official exam that covers topics such as navigation, meteorology and English.

Course development
Theory
The student will have a full access to an e-learning platform where you will find all the course material, from notes and slides used in the classes, to self-assessment questionnaires for each module of study to check the progress in the knowledge of the agenda.
Classes are held in mode telepresencial, where each student can interact with the instructor and the rest of the class, by using a virtual classroom system with access to audio and video.
These classes are recorded and available to students within the e-learning platform, for viewing at any time.
Practices
Practices mandatory safety and navigation, 48 hours of sailing, where they develop, ‘in-situ’, much of the knowledge obtained in the classroom, as well as the use of electronic instruments and execution of guards of navigation.
These practices will be carried out on board a catamaran Lagoon 38 with 11,55 mts length and 4 staterooms, which make the practice even more comfortable.
It made night navigation, organizing shifts of guard, and will examine the contents of the course Pattern of the Yacht.

Additional terms
